Memory. Hisaishi Joe-おくりびと "The Farewell-The Ceremonialist's Movement"

" The Farewell " is a Japanese movie released in 2008. It was not well received when it was first released, but it received wide acclaim thanks to the promotion of netizens. It has grossed nearly 70 million US dollars worldwide and has become a hit among the Japanese audience. Japan won its first Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, the Montreal International Film Festival Jury Prize, and 10 other awards including the Japan Film Awards Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor, sweeping all the awards in Japan and abroad. The film won 98 awards at the major film festivals.

This film tells the story of a cellist who has no choice but to become a coffin-teller. He has to accept the position of funeral director due to financial burden. He initially rejected the job, but after experiencing the weight of death in life, he gradually realized the importance of death. The value of a career, and finally he used the cello to depict this movement of life.

The movie depicts the protagonist's state of mind very delicately, and also gives a new definition to death. The melody composed by Joe Hisaishi further sublimates the atmosphere of the movie. This MV specially invited musician Chen Youwen to re-arrange the music, and the accompaniment is the quiet piano. The piano sounds gradually increase in tension to the broad timbre of the orchestra. The solo in the middle section is a monologue from the performer's inner depths, with special emphasis on the vicissitudes of the cello's timbre for interpretation.

I hope this Cello Cover can recreate the scenes in the movie, and I hope my friends will like it!
