Valen Hsu “Redamancy” Concert Tour – Fuzhou Stop Preview | Valen Hsu’s Reflections and Gratitude for the Journey

Since picking up the microphone at the age of nineteen, Valen Hsu has sung through much of her youth, her voice accompanying countless hearts along the way. After the year 2000, however, the rise of MP3s and the decline of the recording industry once cast a shadow over her musical path. About a decade ago, she even thought about slowing down—following her husband to Korea and embracing a quieter chapter of married life.

Yet destiny had other plans. With her unmistakable and deeply emotive “Valen-style vocals,” she once again found herself standing at the peak of her artistry. Drawing inspiration from everyday life and transforming reflection into creative fuel, Valen began to explore new musical languages and boldly embraced diverse forms of performance—from songwriting to appearing on variety shows—continually redefining how audiences see her.

In 2022, she made a triumphant return to the stage through “Sisters Who Make Waves.” The following year, in 2023, she took on a new challenge at the Taipei Music Center with her latest creation, “Redamancy.”

Soon after, “Redamancy” blossomed into a concert tour, bringing Valen face-to-face with her fans across mainland China. The tour continued through 2024, with stops including:

• April 27 – Beijing National Stadium

• May 11 – Chengdu Anhu Sports Park Multi-functional Gymnasium

• June 8 – Shenzhen Universiade Center

• September 14 – Shanghai Pudong Bank Oriental Sports Center

The originally scheduled July 13 concert at Ningbo Olympic Sports Center was postponed due to acute laryngitis and rescheduled for January 18, 2025. Further performances are planned in Guangzhou and Fuzhou, with a return to Taipei also in the works—a homecoming that fans eagerly await.

YoYo feels deeply honored to have accompanied Valen Hsu throughout the “Redamancy” tour as the cellist. Just like the lyrics from “Redamancy” say:

These lines speak not only of love, but also of serendipity—how the concert itself became a web of beautiful encounters: with audiences from around the world, with dedicated crew members, and with fellow musicians united by their devotion to music.

Each connection intertwined seamlessly, creating moments that shimmer with warmth and meaning. YoYo has always cherished the rare magic of performing in large-scale live concerts, and her collaboration with Valen Hsu has left an indelible and heartfelt mark on her musical journey.
