"Close Your Eyes" is known as "Japan's Ultimate Tear-Jittering Love Song," a testament to its popularity in Japan. Hirai Ken, a Japanese pop singer and composer, wrote the song for the 2004 Japanese film "Crying Out Love in the Center of the World" (世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ). It was Hirai Ken's 20th single, selling over one million copies and making it the best-selling single of 2004 in Japan.
