"Tian Mi Mi" (Sweet Honey) was originally a folk song from Banten Province, Indonesia, called "Dayung Sampan" (Rowing a Sampan). After a villager added Mandarin lyrics and performed by Teresa Teng, it became one of her signature works. Its warm, soulful, and simple melody has been beloved by Chinese people around the world. This reinterpretation of the folk song quickly became a widely sung, catchy hit on the Chinese music scene at the time.
